![]() 'The catastrophic effects of 'Red Friday', June 6th 2026, caused by unnaturally high solar activity, resulted in the fatal toxification of the Earth's atmosphere and zombification of anyone exposed for too long. Here's the introduction text from the start of a new game: The story was an expansion of the one touted in the zombie versions of Carmageddon. The game featured opponents and levels from Carmageddon II, as well as one exclusive location (used as a tutorial) and one exclusive opponent. The game remained published by Sales Curve Interactive in Europe. It was developed by Software Creations, and due to be published by Interplay, but it was published instead by Titus Interactive after they bought Interplay. Ĭarmageddon 64 was a port of Carmageddon II, released for the Nintendo 64 video game console in 2000. Be patient :-)ĭavid Ratcliffe, Ben Gunstone, Steven J. Without that second one (dosboxCARMA_nf) you won't have any autoexec commands, so DOSBox would load, set up to the settings for 3DFX, then quit as no application was started within DOSBox, which sounds like what you were experiencing.Unfortunately, this game is currently available only in this version. "C:\GOG Games\Carmageddon\DOSBOX\dosbox.exe" -conf ".\nf" -conf ".\dosboxCARMA_nf" -noconsole -c exit Looking at your shortcut, being as the software shortcut referenced two conf files, shouldn't the hardware (3DFX) one also reference two conf files? i.e. :) The Win95 patch doesn't work for everyone, but unless running it in DOSBox is too intensive for your system then I can't see why you wouldn't run it in DOSBox and make use of nglide for a higher screen resolution to get sharper looking graphics. This is the first time I have played carmageddon 1/2 I can see why it has the cult following, very fun destruction Derby-type game (But with much more character). A rookie mistake perhaps but i'm at sea when it comes to PC gaming! Driving in slow motion was throwing me off! ![]() I switched to the intel integrated graphics (I'm on a laptop) and the game runs perfectly now at the correct FPS- not at half speed like it was doing with the AMD. However I have now resolved the issue, it turns out the windows 95 patch just didn't like my AMD graphics card. ![]() Help from anybody is appreciated! the window's 95 patch is sluggish on my comp (along with jerky driving)ĭaveman247: Yes I did, I renamed every glide. There is only one shortcut that goes to a DOS menu for carageddon (regular) and 3dfx mode (which doesn't work). But I cannot find it in any of the carmageddon files. I've read in quite a few threads here that the game HAS to be run in "hardware mode" and that there should be a shortcut for it. "C:\GOG Games\Carmageddon\DOSBOX\dosbox.exe" -conf ".\nf" -noconsole -c exit ![]() This is what it looks like after I edited it: This is what the target of the shortcut was when i first installed carmageddon: I know my Nglide works because I used it to upgrade the graphics for clive barkers undying. Today I was so excited :D Carmageddon! Finally! I followed your instructions, but when the shortcut runs dosbox opens for about a second then closes its self.
